New Porsgrunn Rose

The Arne Jacobsen wrist watches are the epitome of timeless design pieces, but did you know that one of most famous Danish architects of all time was a passionate gardener and nurtured a lifelong interest in botany?

The botanist Arne Jacobsen

Arne Jacobsen reportedly said several times: "If I get a new life, I will be a gardener." He also created several gardens in his life composed with great botanical insight and artistic overview - including his own gardens, the gardens of the Danish National Bank and St. Catherine's College in Oxford. As a tribute to the botanist Arne Jacobsen, we introduce the feminine watch Porsgrunn Rose Gold in a 34 mm petite watch case.

CITY HALL designed in 1956

Rødovre City Hall in Denmark is one of Arne Jacobsen’s most complete designs, inspired by the international trends of the time. Arne Jacobsen designed every aspect of the City Hall, all the way down to the clocks on the walls and the furniture of his own famous design.
The CITY HALL clock exhibits Arne Jacobsen’s uncompromising approach to design and architecture. With its curved glass and precise graphics, it is a study of timeless simplicity and elegance.

Refined. Always.

The dial is inspired by the Norwegian Porsgrunn marble, one of Arne Jacobsen’s favorite materials. The dial is made with a circular fine-brushed finish, which gives the watch a slightly changing grey colour, just like the Porsgrunn marble that fluctuates in several grey colours.

The design stays true to Arne Jacobsen’s original clock design from 1956.

More about the botanist Arne Jacobsen

Jacobsen's joy for plants is already expressed when he draws his first house - the funkis villa on Gotfred Rodes Vej from 1929. The house looks almost like an orangery building in the middle of the green garden, which is rich in ferns, kiwi trees, figs, lavenders, roses and round old age ivy. The garden is laid out with inspiration from England's romantic gardens with roses, perennial beds and a movement around the house that arouses the curiosity of the viewer.
